Polish Composers’ Union (PCU) is an association of composers and musicologists. Its highest authorities are: The General Assembly of PCU, summoned once in two years, and the Central Management Board, whose headquarters are in Warsaw. There are three PCU statutory organs: The Committee of Auditors, The Member Qualification Committee, and the Court of Peer Arbiters. In Poland, there are eight regional PCU branches grouping members from the given region. Musicologists have their own section in PCU. Youth World is a circle of young composers and musicologists associated with PCU.

Some of Polish Composers’ Union’s main aims are: organising the “Warsaw Autumn” International Festival of Contemporary Music, maintaining and developing the Polish Music Information Centre (PCU Prints and Recordings Library - Polish Contemporary Music Documentation Centre). The Accountancy Department is responsible for finance and bookkeeping, while the PCU Office deals with administrative matters. It is managed by Marta Karska, who, among others, is the administrator of the Union’s internet site: www.zkp.org.pl. The map of our internet site corresponds to the PCU organisational structure presented above. From the current level, the user can access information about the given PCU structural unit or element. The regional branches, the Musicologists’ Section and Youth World are responsible for the independent management of their sub-sites (folders). The main menu also gives access to information about the various areas of the Union’s activity.
